Top Ten Tips

My Top Ten Tips are the keys for creating a comprehensive plan to effectively manage challenging behaviours / behaviours of concern arising in the context of brain impairment.

This course has been developed for all team members particularly behaviour support practitioners, psychologists, and occupational therapists.

The information in this course can be applied to challenging situations that can arise from all conditions that affect brain function.

Each tip will be illustrated with the example of Mike (shown in this photo). Mike suffered a traumatic brain injury complicated by an hypoxic event when he had a cardiac arrest at the accident scene. Mike's presentation was complex but overwhelmingly he presented with a severe lack of initiative, otherwise referred to as adynamia. Although not an overt behaviour, therapists and support workers frequently describe adynamia as the most challenging to manage.

On completion of the course a certificate for three hours professional development will be issued.

Following the event a recording of the presentation will be available to registrants.
